The work package we prepare
One defined ordinary low-voltage building electrical rough-in or switchboard-installation package. Identify the board and circuit boundaries, concealed-work interfaces, termination scope and the parties responsible for verification, inspection and handover. Different boards or separate installation stages may need separately scoped plans.
Customer-defined or wider electrical work can be prepared when its package boundaries and project sources are supplied; the free baseline is narrower. Design calculations, switchboard manufacture or design verification, high voltage, hazardous areas, generation, battery systems, specialist systems and network work require separately defined source-backed scope. Installation and testing remain with appropriately licensed and authorised people. The ITP and our blank records are document aids; they are not statutory certificates, a safe-work procedure or permission to energise.
Documents that make the plan specific
Upload the files as they are. You do not need to extract clauses or rewrite them into a brief. Include the mandatory contractor form if you have one.
- Controlled electrical drawings and circuit schedules
- Supply board IDs, circuit boundaries, routes, containment and penetration details, approved revisions and the applicable scope interfaces.
- Specification and equipment instructions
- Provide the actual adopted requirements and editions, approved equipment information, installation details, manufacturer limits and approved substitutions.
- Verification and defect/retest arrangements
- Supply the approved verification requirements, test method and criteria, required circuit coverage, instrument evidence and responsible licensed roles. Values and testing conditions must come from applicable project sources.
- Jurisdiction, inspection and connection pathway
- Identify the state or territory, required certificates, independent inspection where applicable, network or metering arrangements and who may authorise each stage. Contractual review is recorded separately from those duties.
How requirements become checks and records
The sequence below explains the document workflow. It contains no engineering thresholds or completed inspection results.
| Work stage | What the ITP resolves | What the blank record captures later |
|---|---|---|
| Rough-in before concealment | Identify each area and circuit, its route/support/protection requirements and the evidence needed before follow-on work. | Record the area/circuit, drawing revision, installation observations, photos and outstanding interface decisions before concealment. |
| Switchboard installation | Connect board identity, approved equipment documents, mounting and circuit/earthing interfaces to the project requirements. | Keep equipment references, installation evidence, circuit schedule revisions and original specialist records linked to the same board. |
| Verification and readiness handover | Identify the project verification scope and applicable licensed testing, inspection, certification and connection roles. | Index original results with units, report and instrument references; link defects to retest and keep each actual certification or connection decision separate. |
What you receive
- A scoped Electrical installation ITP with inspection steps, methods, project criteria and source references, timing/frequency where supplied, responsibilities and the project control-point legend.
- Matching blank field records for the agreed checks, including actual observation, evidence, issue, recheck and sign-off fields.
- Excel, Word and PDF, with document control and specific open confirmations. Actual measurements, test results and signatures remain blank.
- Your supplied contractor form used where its format is required, with its required structure retained. Source documents and paid standards are not redistributed as part of the package.
If the documents are incomplete or conflict
For example, a circuit schedule can establish the included circuits while missing verification criteria remain a precise input query. We do not invent protective-device settings, test limits, cable ratings, torque values or legal release rights. Queensland certification and Victorian prescribed-work inspection pathways illustrate why the actual project jurisdiction must be identified; neither is assumed to apply nationwide.
Project document precedence and approved revisions control the plan. Drafting does not confer engineering approval, certify compliance or guarantee contractor acceptance.
